In this video, Bob Breithaupt discusses the principles of striking the cymbal at a variety of volume levels without harming it.  While it’s possible for anyone to crack a cymbal, it is vital that the player understand the capacity of a given cymbal and the concept of placing the cymbal into vibration without overplaying it and allowing it to freely vibrate.
