WHY PERCUSSION PORTAL?

It is said that the art of teaching is make something simple that is perceived as complicated. The great teacher knows what information and knowledge is appropriate to convey at the right time.

If music is a universal language, then what is the “universal” instrument?  I believe, beyond the human voice, it is the instruments of the percussion family…those may be struck, scraped, shook and manipulated to create sound, connecting individuals to music and cultures in myriad ways.

PercussionPortal is a tool to assist you in conveying fundamental knowledge about the performance on and, if you are an instructor, to help communicate that knowledge to others.

The video content is intended to be easily understood, and built around a pedagogical approach, not as entertainment, or displaying techniques that are generally not attainable for most players and students.

Online instruction will be available for those that are interested, on the subject of technique, career development, and other topics as desired. Please contact me directly at bob@percussionportal.com for availability and other details.
